Plot summary

The film is based on a filmstrip from 1965. It shows images of local musicians and the in-crowd at a private party in Malmö, Sweden. They are all young and happy being part of the golden age of pop. Amongst them certain exclusive guests appear: Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones, the first big, international pop band to visit the city. 40 years later, we meet the people on the filmstrip again to find out how their lives turned out. Rolling Like a Stone is a documentary about those whose identity was formed during a few years in the middle of the sixties. It is also about the difficulties of ageing with their dreams and living in the present.
