Jong Su is a young conductor and his younger sister Jong Hui is a dancer. Their parents were killed by the U.S. imperialist wolves during the war but they have become excellent artists in the warm bosom of Premier Kim Il Sung, the respected and beloved Leader of the Korean people. Each time they give performance their thoughts turn to their father who died game in battle on the Height 1,211. Meanwhile a smelter Yong Chil, comrade-in-arms of Jong Su's father, and his daughter, Yong Suk, try to find the whereabouts of the bereaved brother and sister. On their perfomance tour, Jong Su is enchanted by the song of a girl enjoying a rest at a park. Jong Su thinks Yong Suk is a promising singer. So he recommends her to his song and dance troupe. Even at the song and dance troupe, Yong Suk continues to inquire after the brother and sister since she doesn't know that the young conductor is the very man whom she and her father are so eager to see. Informed of a certain brother and sister working at a machine factory from the subeditor of the Haebang Publishing House, Yong Suk calls on them only to see the persons unsought for. Much disappointed, she tells the matter to Jong Su and shows him a photograph of her father and his comrade-in-arms. He is just the father of Jong Su. At the sight of his father after about 20 years in the photo, tears well up in the eyes of Jong Su.
