Plot summary
A young couple wake, early. He drinks milk straight from the carton and wears white jeans. She is sulky and busy fixing her hair. He makes toast and tells a story about a sparrow hawk and a fence. They bring a bike down from the attic. He cycles off and she stays behind and watches him leave.
