Plot summary

"The film focuses on different aspects of human life, where water plays a crucial role. At the same time it is a meeting, were we as filmmakers and artists investigate the narrative possibilities. The film consists of documentary footage interwoven with fiction and animation and we have explored these cinematic and artistic elements and how they can interact. Water in different forms acts as a narrative link between the visual images. Flow addresses important issues concerning water in a different way and I hope it will reach many viewers. The film has been a long and exciting journey for me, both geographically and in other ways."

- Åsa Maria Bengtsson, director

"I've been waiting to make a current film on an important topic - it became a film about water. Why does the world look the way it does? What will happen to our environment in the future? Will we be able to live where we live now? Will climate refugees’ soon be a reality? How do we deal with this type of knowledge? Questions I asked myself during the production and which I hope the viewer will ask him- or herself. For me, an important, current and political film and at the same time a poetic film about water."

-Ewa Cederstam, director
