Plot summary

The alcoholic Harry Werner has spent six years in hospital, after a nervous breakdown. His gardener Albin is digging beside a silver spruce when a skeleton arm comes to light and a watch with the name Raoul engraved upon it is found. Harry hears voices from six years ago. There was a wild party at his house. The flashbacks stop. Harry decides in consultation with his psychiatrist Dr. Bergqvist, to assemble all those who were at the party to find out who murdered Raoul. All arrive. Albin announces that the silver spruce needs digging up to get access for necessary plumbing work. After some comings and goings the murderer is revealed.
