| FIAF showing | 2017-09-01 | BFI gjorde om en skarv i akt 2 inför visningen: The print looks ok, a bit faded to pink, with some scratches and dirt but fairly good (first scene is very pink, much better after). Reel 2 has an out of rack join about a foot into the picture. It is an existing tear repair which has been marked with a white paper sticker. There is some missing film and the frames have been overlapped by a perf, possibly to make a stronger join. We would need to remove 2 frames to make a decent in rack repair. Because of the sticker I’m thinking perhaps the splice was done at a previous screening just to send back to the archive and wasn’t intended to be a permanent repair? | ||||
