"14-year-old Malik feels like an outsider in Sweden after his family flees there from Iraq. In Sweden, Malik gets bullied at school, gets into fights, and is misunderstood by his headteacher. When Saddam Hussein is captured by American forces, the family decides to move back to Iraq, which makes Malik happy as he can now feel more like he belongs. But soon after arriving, Malik experiences the same kind of foreignness as he did in Sweden. Everyone dresses, speaks and acts differently, and suddenly Malik feels like an outsider again.
