Koreograf, dansare. Född Anna Ida Birgit Åkesson i Malmö. Utbildad hos Mary Wigman i Dresden, debut i Paris 1934, soloframträdanden i Stockholm, Köpenhamn, Oslo, Prag, London, New York, Milano. En av grundarna till Koreografiska institutet 1963. Forskat i afrikansk rituell dans.
