Csaba Bene Perlenberg is one of Sweden's most prolific and interesting new young filmmakers. Having been the first director to be awarded the New Nordic Voices Award for his film Väsenpumpen/The Walk at the 2007 Nordic Panorama Film Festival ("a one-take, one-shot masterpiece", the festival called it), 2007 became his break-out year. Having directed some 15 short films, the majority being fiction, his cinematic artisanship has always involved itself with experimentation of the medium itself. Improvisation has been one of his signature methods.
Today, he is associated with Hepp Film and the producer Helena Danielsson in southern Sweden, but he is also running his own film production company together with another young Swedish director, Magnus Göransson. Together they form Anton Bene Film, which is a part of Korphult Kompani AB. He has studied at PCFE Film School in Prague (film production), New York Film Academy (screenwriting), Brobygrafiska Folkhögskolan (screenwriting) in Sunne as well as studied film history and film science at Lunds University. He is currently a guest faculty member at Campeon Frigymnasium in Helsingborg, Sweden.
